Dear Colleagues,

We are deeply saddened by the loss of our esteemed retired Department Chair and cherished professor, Dr. Orhan Akıman, who served our department with great dedication for many years. He inspired all of us with his guidance, humanity, and exemplary character, leaving a lasting impact through his knowledge and touching hearts with his compassion.

He was not only an administrator but also a highly valued scientist and professor who earned a place in our hearts through his knowledge, effort, and sincerity throughout his academic career. He always served as a guide for his students and colleagues and commanded respect with his dignified personality and academic stance. The valuable contributions he made to our department and the students he mentored will be remembered with respect and longing.

We extend our condolences and wish patience to his family, loved ones, the METU community, and all students and colleagues who had the privilege of knowing him.
